Tagging Tips
KidStuff Sales now uses a system called My Consignment Manager, which will allow you to electronically enter all of your items, print tags, and manage your inventory. The cost of using this system is included in your registration fee.
Benefits to you:
· Easy to use, point/click menus
· Electronically enter your tags from any computer with internet access
· Calculate your potential sales
· Print lists of your sold/unsold inventory
· Print an itemized donation list (unsold items) for your taxes
· Resubmit unsold items from one sale to another without retagging
· View items sold prior to picking up unsold items/receiving your check
Access to My Consignment Manager begins when you register for a sale.
Tagging Tips
1.
Organize
items
into groups by type – toys, clothing, equipment, etc. Sort clothing by
gender, type, and size.
2.
Enter your
items into the system. By sorting prior to entering, you will save time
because you will only have to re-enter the price and description for each
similar item. Categories are held until you change them. The fields are
also text friendly and will automatically complete the field once you’ve
learned the descriptions and key the first letter or digit.
3.
Edit
any tags by going the Manage Inventory screen. Here you can print
inventory reports, mass edit items or individual items, and also see a
Projected Settlement Report based on the items you have entered into the
system.
4.
Print
tags any time you want - at intervals or all at once when you finish
entering your items. Print tags only on white cover stock or card stock
60# weight or heavier.
5. Check your tags to make sure the bar-code is clear and is not excessively dark (sometimes the ‘normal’ setting is best to use when printing).
- Tag your items by cutting tags on the lines and pinning to left shoulder or right side if the clothing is facing you (use safety pins). When applying tape to the toys, equipment, etc. please do not put tape on the bar code.

Printing Tags
Once you are done entering your items you can choose to print at home
(select print tags and follow prompts) or you can have tags printed for
you by Copy Palace for a small charge.
The Copy Palace will take your tag PDF and print (on required 60lb white
paper) and cut approx. 175 tags for around $3.00. The service is wonderful
and the tags scan great – FASTER register lines!
Copy Palace Instructions
- Mail your tag pdf file to Robert at the following email address: Thecopypalace@bellsouth.net
- Enter KidStuff Sale and your full name and the date in the email subject line - example: KidStuff Sale - Jane Doe - 03/08/08
- PDF’s received by 5pm Monday – Thursday will be ready after 1pm the following day.
- Copy Palace is NOT open on the weekend so plan accordingly.
- There is no minimum to the print order – send as many pdfs as you’d like, however we suggest you rename each pdf file and save a copy to your hard drive with the date and the number series of the tags - example: Doe030808tags1to145 – or something meaningful to you. This will prevent you from reprinting the same tag. If you do happen to print tags a second time be sure to discard them.
